April 21, 2018 – National Boys & Girls Club Week
In partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast, United for a Good Cause Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, invites you to support our 5th Annual YOUth LEADership Conference!
The conference is designed to: cultivate leadership skills, empower attendees with tools, resources, and inspiration to live and model civic action in the community while helping them discover their purpose and potential.
It is scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 9 am to 3 pm at the Fort Walton Beach Boys & Girls Club of the Emerald Coast Youth Center, and will be for 7th – 12th grade students in public, private, parochial and/or home-schooled, regardless of race, ethnicity, or creed. The conference fee is only $10 and will include a light lunch and conference material.
Our keynote speakers this year will be Jeremiah and Joshua West, 12 and 10 years old respectively. The West brothers are entrepreneurs, published authors, and speakers who have inspired children from around the world to be “change agents” in their own communities (www.championsofchangeusa.org). The conference will have an energetic and exciting cadre of local and national level speakers ranging from leadership experts, entrepreneurs, and will also include STEM-related presentations and activities. Some of the speakers include Peggy Plummer Brockman, Barbara Britt, Diane Fraser, Olivia West, and others.
We thank Cox Communications, ZT Motors, Gulf Power Company, Eglin Federal Credit Union, the HSU Family Educational Foundation, and K2 Media, Inc. for leading the way as sponsors of this year’s conference. We invite other companies and individuals to also “Invest in Your Region’s Youth” by becoming a corporate sponsor or donating toward the scholarships that will allow low-income students to attend.
This event is NOT a fundraiser. It is a community service project, and we welcome your support!
